About Us:

Barkstone Designs is an online and direct retailer offering quality, hand-made outerwear and collars for pets. Barkstone Designs owner has been designing and making custom dog clothing and accessories since 1995 and realizing the limited availability of clothing and accessories for larger breeds, we set out to design and produce stylish apparel for Great Danes and other gentle giants. Inspired by our chief test dog Molly, we created Barkstone Designs in 2005. Since then, we have refined and improved the look, features and durability of our collars and clothing plus added extended sizes to suit most breeds, giant, tiny and inbetween.

Barkstone Designs is a family business based in Northern California, owned and operated by animal lovers. The inspiration for the concept, and our logo, was our best friend Molly, a black Great Dane who stylishly modeled and tested the first designs. Sadly, Molly passed away quite suddenly in November 2006 at the age of 6 from an aggressive form of cancer, but she remains very close to us and will live in our hearts forever.

Maggie and Henry are Barkstone's current pets and happy models. After losing Molly, we wanted our next dog to be a rescue, so we could provide a loving home for a dog that was in need. Maggie joined us when she was approx 7 months old in December 2006 she has quite the character, and is one of the happiest girls you can meet.

Henry is also a rescue. He is a lovable character, has no idea of his size and is the typical giant lap dog. They are both integral parts of our family and are always around us.
